Tom: Hey Lisa — how was your weekend?
Lisa: Hey Tom! Pretty good, thanks. I went for a hike on Saturday and spent Sunday just relaxing at home. You?
Tom: Nice! I played soccer on Saturday and watched a movie Sunday night. By the way, did you hear about Sarah’s party next Friday?
Lisa: I did — sounds fun. I’m planning to go. Also, don’t forget we have that team meeting on Wednesday morning.
Tom: Right, Wednesday. Thanks for the reminder. So meeting on Wednesday and party on Friday — busy week ahead.
Lisa: Yeah, I’ve got a lot to wrap up before Wednesday. How’s your report coming along?
Tom: Slowly but surely. Still finishing a couple of sections. I’m hoping to have it done by tomorrow night.
Lisa: That’s great — I’ll finish my review today and send it over. If you want, I can take a quick look at your draft before you send it to the group.
Tom: Would really appreciate that. I’ll ping you when it’s ready.
Lisa: Perfect. What about plans for the rest of the week — any chance of grabbing dinner together?
Tom: I’m free Thursday evening if that works for you. Want to try that new bistro on Oak Street?
Lisa: Thursday works. I heard good things about the bistro — let’s do it. Shall we say 7 pm?
Tom: 7 pm is perfect. I’ll make a reservation for two.
Lisa: Awesome. Oh — quick note: I’ve got a dentist appointment on Friday morning, so I might be a little slow to respond then.
Tom: No worries. And before I forget — I’m thinking about a weekend getaway at the end of May. Would you be interested?
Lisa: Definitely! What did you have in mind?
Tom: Maybe a cabin in the mountains — a couple of days hiking and chilling by the fire. Low-key, nothing fancy.
Lisa: Sounds perfect. Count me in. Let me check my calendar and I’ll get back to you with which weekend works best.
Tom: Great — speak soon about that. Also, remember Mark’s birthday on April 15th — do we want to organize something small?
Lisa: Yes, I have it noted. Maybe a cozy dinner or a small get-together. I can message the group and see who’s available.
Tom: Cool. If we do dinner, I can take care of booking a table. Any dietary stuff we should keep in mind?
Lisa: Good point — Emily is vegetarian and Jake avoids dairy. I’ll include that when I ask the group.
Tom: Perfect. Anything else on your plate this week?
Lisa: Just the usual — finishing the report and prepping slides for Wednesday. I’ll update the team doc by tonight so everyone can review.
Tom: Sounds good. I’ll send my draft to you later today. And I’ll book the table for Thursday once you confirm the place.
Lisa: Thanks — I’ll confirm in a bit. If anything changes, I’ll shoot you a text.
Tom: Same here. Alright, back to work for me. Catch you later, and thanks for the help.
Lisa: No problem — good luck with the report. See you Thursday!
Tom: Oh — one more thing before I forget. I need to pick up a few groceries after work today. Would you mind grabbing some milk if you’re heading out earlier?
Lisa: Sure, no problem. What kind of milk — whole, skim, or plant-based?
Tom: Whole, please. And if they have that small oat milk, grab one of those too — I want to try it in my coffee.
Lisa: Got it. Anything else?
Tom: Some eggs and a loaf of whole-grain bread. Also, if you see any ripe avocados, pick two — I’m craving avocado toast.
Lisa: Eggs, bread, avocados, oat milk, and whole milk — noted. I can stop by the corner shop on my way home. Want me to text when I’m there?
Tom: Yes please, that’ll be great. I can meet you and grab my keys then.
Lisa: By the way, the building manager said they’ll be servicing the hot water this afternoon. If you planned a shower after the gym, you might want to do it earlier.
Tom: Thanks — I’ll move my gym session up. Are you joining the group run on Saturday?
Lisa: I am. We’re meeting by the park gate at 8 a.m. Want to come?
Tom: I’ll try to make it. I have a family call Saturday afternoon, but morning should be fine.
Lisa: Great. Also, could you lend me a screwdriver? My shelf is a bit loose and I don’t have the right size.
Tom: Sure — the small flathead is in my toolbox. I can leave it at your door after work if that’s easiest.
Lisa: That would be perfect. I’ll return it on Saturday after the run.
Tom: One more thing — my laptop logged me out of the Wi‑Fi this morning. Do you know the password?
Lisa: It’s on the router sticker. I’ll snap a photo and text it to you now.
Tom: Thanks, you’re a lifesaver. Alright, I’m off to get this section done. Talk later!
Lisa: Talk soon — and thanks for the groceries list. See you tonight!
